About this workshop
This session will focus on using risk management as a powerful management decision making tool. It will highlight the differences in schools of risk management strategy and how risk management completely changed decision making and risk disclosure to various stakeholders and stakeholder groups.It will cover the pros and cons of risk management integration into decision making including some of the most advanced risk management strategies and practices in risk analysis and decision quality. Learn practical ideas that can be applied across key business processes and functions that enable decision making of a higher order.
The session will cover tools and techniques to identify critical (and emerging) risks, analyze their effect on decision making and mitigate or optimize the risks as part of decision execution in support of both short and long term operational and strategic plans.

Chris Mandel
Christopher E. Mandel is SVP, Strategic Solutions for Sedgwick and Director of the Sedgwick Institute, the world’s largest and leading claims and productivity management firm. He is also founder and managing consultant of Excellence in Risk Management, LLC. He has held leadership positions in risk management, insurance, consulting and brokerage for large global corporates for over 30 years including with such firms as USAA Group, PepsiCo, Verizon, the Red Cross, Liberty Mutual and Marsh. He has been a long-term senior leader in RIMS including being elected President in 2002-03 and was named 2004 Risk Manager of the Year. In 2016, he was given RIMS’ highest award for lifetime achievement and was appointed to Risk Who’s Who in 2007. He holds and has held numerous board positions in the industry and teaches for multiple universities, for RIMS and for the International Center for Captive Insurance Education.
